Ironically I live in Michigan and there happens to be a large wooden eagle sculpture in my neighborhood down the street from my house. It’s not painted so it’s clearly a wooden sculpture, but it is large. If you go up to the coast of Lake Superior, there are a few areas where bald eagles hang out. I remember going up north as a kid, seeing them, and being like “damn that’s a big bird”. You always forget how large they really are… I fell down the rabbit hole a few weeks ago on YouTube to see how impressive they really are. Almost all birds harass birds of prey and they never seem to react much. You can find videos of hummingbirds divebombing birds as large as great horned owls.
