Nice Unicorn Quarantined on my 4th birthday shirt

I’m originally from North Carolina near Raleigh so there were actually plenty of solid jobs that I could have gotten as there is a small tech scene there (I actually applied to a few jobs there before coming to the bay area, but was pretty set on moving here). Honestly the biggest reason I moved here wasn’t for the salaries (wasn’t even aware of them at the time), it was mostly for the startup scene since I knew that’s something I wanted to Nice Unicorn Quarantined on my 4th birthday shirt pursue. My quality of life probably would have definitely started out BETTER if I had stayed in NC, but now I think that they would be pretty equal since there’s not really much I could change to increase it significantly. That being said, I have always been able to save way more in the bay area.Not OP, but I live in the bay area. I live near Sunnyvale so the nightlife options are limited, but still good bars to hang out at. The only problem is, it’s hard for me to meet friends that are into that kind of stuff. Lots of introverts, at least at FAANG, maybe startups or people up in the city are more into that kind of stuff. I’ve gone into the city sometimes and had a blast. Far better than the city I grew up in, but probably not nearly as good as Nice Unicorn Quarantined on my 4th birthday shirt some other flagships like NY, London. Of course, everything is relative depending on where you came from and what you consider “fun”.

Or was the first job a great reason to move out because jobs weren’t promising? I already have lifelong consequences from getting RSV as a kid, another “mostly minor and survivable” illness. As a result of the “minor” respiratory infection, I have lungs that work around 40% capacity on a good day and take three medications to keep my cardiovascular system working properly. I get out of breath when I take two flights of stairs, and that’s even with being a healthy weight. People who have never been severely ill or had long-term effects from an injury take their health for granted and a lot of them are going to get a rude awakening, sadly. Just because you are alive, doesn’t mean that everything works the way it used to. I hope so too. He wasn’t a marathon runner, but he had a good career going and was an active guy.
